Château Bélair-Monange

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
1er Grand Cru Classé
1,5
Red
Bélair Monange is the home of Edouard Moueix, son of Christian who has taken on the project to restore the estate to its former glory. Yields are small and there is much replanting being done. A blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. I believe firmly in the increasing quality of these wines over the last few years and feel that once they become better known, they are going to be famous. The 2016 is rather restrained; silky, black fruit, good tannins and lovely balance. There is power and freshness here and this wine will age very well. Drink 2026-2046
