Château Beychevelle

Saint-Julien
4ième Grand Cru Classé
0,75
Red
Beychevelle’s proximity to the river enabled the grapes to keep their freshness, even though the berries were very small. It has dark and intense colour, a freshness and purity in the nose, which is very “Beychevelle”, with its characteristic plums and blackcurrant fruit on the palate. There is an interesting vein of graphite tannins on the finish, a wine which is comfortable with itself and shows great charm even at this young stage. The wine blend is 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. A very successful wine which shows the resilience of the old vines in such a dry, warm vintage.
