Château Carbonnieux

Pessac-Léognan
Grand Cru Classé de Graves
0,75
White
Carbonnieux is a wonderful, historic family estate and the wine is made by Eric Perrin’s son, Andrea. As you may have heard the white wines in 2021 are a great success. They were picked three weeks before the red and are made with predominately Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Eric feels that the wine bears the aromatic signature of Carbonnieux with its youthful, floral citrus nose that lead to more tropical fruit notes of passionfruit, mango and white pepper. On the palate there is fresh fruit, a pretty, silky texture and lingering floral notes. Already expressive, this is a wine which will have a long drinking window.

Appellation

Created quite recently, in 1987, Pessac-Léognan is a sub appellation of the Graves, although the region as a whole claims to be the oldest wine region in Bordeaux dating back to the Roman times. It is thanks to the efforts of André Lurton, one of the best-known growers in the area, that the appellation was formed. ...
