Château Giscours

Margaux
3ième Grand Cru Classé

Red
Probably the most improved estate in the Médoc, the 2022 is made from a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. The nose is sensational - myrtilles and blueberries, very fresh and open with good floral notes, that expand on the palate to show a super lithe and sporty character with smooth and lively tannins and a lush, balanced and seamless structure. This is a good-looking wine, marking the identity of Giscours with large shoulders, virile mouth feel, energy and mouth coating tannins that do not tire the palate. The black fruit comes back in the finish with an appetising note of noble bitterness and minty freshness on the finish. This is super, Giscours, the best vintage that Alexander Van Beek, the estate’s director has seen here. Old vines may be the key here.
