Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac
5ième Grand Cru Classé
0,75
Red
GPL as this wine is often called, is one of our favourite wines and this year the Borie family have made a wine full of classic Pauillac fruit and purity. It begins with a gorgeous dark purple red colour; a nose which is complex, quite serious, smoky and round with lots of black cherries and cassis buds that lead to a crunchy palate with lovely acidity and sweet spiciness. Towards the end, the wine becomes softer with excellent suave tannins while the finish is more reticent but with real class. A top GPL. (FM)
