Château Haut-Bailly

Pessac-Léognan
Grand Cru Classé de Graves
1,5
Red
As often recently, the 2018 Haut Bailly is supremely classy and refined. Made from a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the grapes were harvested quite early between the 17 September and the 9th October. On the nose, the wine begins with quite serious, compact notes of plums, cassis, cedar, liquorice and spice. Then on the palate the wine opens up to silky tannins and well-balanced flavours of black fruit and minerals. It is very fresh and the rich tannins are so integrated already with good tension. This is a concentrated wine which will have excellent aging potential.

It is thanks to the efforts of André Lurton, one of the best-known growers in the area, that the appellation was formed. ...
