Château La Conseillante

With the arrival of winemaker Marielle Cazaux, this chateau has really found its stride and the wines have become richer and glossier and surprisingly, more masculine. Much praised, the 2016 is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and blends attractive blackberry fruit with floral notes of violets, wild flowers and vanilla. Deep and dark with a fine tannic backbone, this is plush and rich and very successful. Drink 2026-2040
