The work and the ambition of this beautifully located Right Bank estate next to Cheval Blanc is really beginning to pay off. A new winemaker, a reduction of yields, a replanting programme for the Cabernets, changed pruning techniques and new coopers have all contributed to a much silkier, modern, riper, and fruitier style here. The 2020 is another success: Ripe, soft, and rich in the nose with floral notes of peony, cassis and iris; smooth and velvety on the attack; round and integrated tannins; the wine is precise, bright and perky with lots of depth and freshness. A very attractive La Dominique. (ADR)
