A classic Montrose that has great freshness and charm and is much more expressive en primeur than in previous years. Like many of the top Bordeaux estates, Montrose is taking its first organic steps with 2 hectares of biodynamic vines and 8ha of organic Merlot; this year this will be extended to 40 hectares of organic vineyard. The blend is 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc. Very perfumed and spicy, good depth with lovely dark fruit, very “velvet hand in iron glove” image, very classic St. Estèphe, classic Montrose. Good spice and tannic verve leading to an impressive finish. A great Montrose. Drink 2026-2050
