Clos du Marquis

Saint-Julien
0,75
Red
Situated just across the road from the famous Las Cases gateway, next to Léoville Poyferré, the quality of this vineyard rivals that of many Médoc classified growths and is made with as much care as Las Cases from the same stable. The blend is 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc with 55% new oak used for the aging. Classic, sweet blackcurrant, floral notes, spice and a framework of oak: there is power here but lovely racy freshness to balance it. Bravo!
