Domaine les Alexandrins

This wine and the sister appellation of Crozes Hermitage have had a great success since they were added to our portfolio last year. Produced from 100% Syrah grapes grown in the north of the appellation in granite soils. Personally, I prefer the classic intensity and freshness of the 2016 vintage over the very ripe 2015 vintage and this wine is more structured with fresh autumn fruit flavours, good acidity, lovely concentration, juicy berry fruit and a sweet, velvety finish. It is so drinkable young that I don’t think many of us will give this wine a chance to age but this vintage does have excellent aging potential. Serve with roast meats, hard cheeses and patés.
