This is one of the fresher premier crus, located near the top of the appellation where the soils are rock, gravel and clay. The wine is fragrant, more red than black fruited with finesse rather than power. There is lots of energy and saltiness in this wine and a touch of menthol in spite of the warm vintage. On the finish there is the characteristic Boillot elegance mixed with sweet fruit and lovely, long structure. A top wine.
