Ferro

Toscana IGT
0,75
Red
A wine that I helped create, this Ferro shows how well the Petit Verdot grape can grow in southern Tuscany where it is making quite a name for itself. Grown in the hills above Florence in the south-southwest facing amphitheatre of the Collazzi estate, this wine comes from the very successful, warm and dry 2016 vintage. This is a rich wine with great depth of flavour – deep plums, blackberries, licorice, spice and black olives – with a quintessentially Italian taste. Although it is quite dense, the texture is silky rather than opulent and the fine acidity balances the quite structured tannins. This is a serious Super Tuscan wine which will age well for at least another ten years.

Lamberto Frescobaldi has completely restored the wine installations ...
