François de Nicolay (BIO)

A lieu dit located at 250 metres of altitude at the northern limit of Corton where the limestone slopes catch lots of sunshine. The Chardonnay grown here has a very pretty character being both floral and saline at the same time. There is good tension mid-palate with flavours of melon and Reine-Claude plums with a touch of cinnamon. Rather restrained and tight at first, with aeration this wine unfurls with an almost minty reverberation on the finish. Situated on an old quarry, it is the chalk, limestone which gives a rather Corton-like depth to this great discovery.
