Passopisciaro, Contrada Guardiola "G"
Contrada Guardiola "G"
Terre Siciliane IGT
0,75
Red
Contrada Guardiola (Contrada G) is an ancient cru at 800 and 1,000 meters on the edge of the lava flow from Etna’s 1947 eruption. It produces a deep and complex wine with a rich taste of red fruit. It comes from the older Nerello Mascalese vines and has a very forward nose of summer berries interspersed with hints of rose and peony. The 2018 vintage was quite rainy and tropical, so the wine is fresher and more juicier than some vintages. It is driven forward by excellent acidity and lift which makes the wine very balanced and lively on the palate. You can feel the magic of the old vines in the mineral spiciness which lingers on the end of the palate to create a deeply appetising wine which reverberates on the finish.
