Jean Grivot

For true Burgundy lovers, we hardly need to introduce the Jean Grivot estate, run since 1987 by Etienne Grivot, assisted by his children Mathilde and Hubert.
It is perfectly located in the center of Vosne Romanée. Thanks to its long history, the estate has privileged plots in mythical climates such as Clos de Vougeot, Échezeaux and Richebourg.
The average age of the vines is 40 years, the vines being replaced as soon as one dies. The planting density is 11,000, which contributes to the low yield. The organic fertilization is very low, the whole field is tilled (three hectares by the horse) and the phytosanitary protection is realized thanks to the reasoned fight with biological tendency. The fermentation is done only with native yeasts. The aging of the wine lasts 18 months in oak barrels, one-third of which are new.
We advise you to decant these wines an hour or two before serving them and serve them cool enough to give free expression to the beautiful aromas.
