0.75lThis wine is made by the family of our new director at Domaines Jacques Thienpont, Diana Berrouet Garcia and we are delighted to find such a beautiful organic Cava which is not yet available on the Belgian market. The domain is named after the Greek God, Tharsys who was the founder of the Requena where the winery is based. The wine is made from Macabeo grapes which have been vinified using the Champagne method and then bottle aged for over 12 months. It has a pale lemon colour with a fine bead of bubbles. On the nose there are light aromas of blossom and flowers, followed by good grapey fruit. On the palate the wine is clean and fresh with a touch of honeysuckle, and an attractive, abiding acidity in the finish. Clean and dry, this is an inviting and well-made Cava with good purity and persistence.

0.75lThe 2017 Épicure Rouge has more personality and freshness than in the past. The vineyard is really coming into its own and Luc Guenard’s meticulous organic cultivation is producing grapes that have more natural, wild flavours of gorse, garrigue, honey and stone fruit. Luc’s natural winemaking is leading to less and less treatments and use of sulphur. We love this wine for its natural, juicy flavours and its forward fruit, brimming with character and richness. Drink now for the next five years, with relaxed meals, bistrot fare and barbecues.

0.75lThis is a vintage which suits de Carles and its later ripening vineyards. Very dark with crimson notes, quite rich and powerful in the nose, dark autumn fruits and a touch of cedar, lots of thick, creamy texture and then sweetness from the ripe fruit and oak barrels. Lots of character and flavour reaching right through to the finish.
