Château Les Charmes Godard
Francs, Côtes de Bordeaux, Blanc, 2018
Every time I serve this wine to friends, you see their faces light up as they look at the glass in front of them, quickly followed by a second sip. The wine carries a spiciness thanks to the predominant Sémillon and the Sauvignon Blanc adds fruity notes of apple, apricots, limes and a fine touch of passion fruit. Ending with a crispy aftertaste that lingers on for a quite some time. Great for these sunny days.

Pessac-Léognan, Graves Cru Classé, Blanc, 2014
This organic wine is considered by Bordeaux insiders to be a great wine both in quality and value for money. I love its purity and the fact that this chateau is owned by one of the foremost viticultural research centers in France. A very charming Couhins Blanc with very obvious Sauvignon Blanc aromas in the nose which is sprightly and full of purity and life. The wine is lively and interesting with good fresh acidity and a touch of oak and minerality behind the fruit. Elegant and balanced. Well made.

Château La Roque de By
Médoc, Cru Bourgeois, 2016
I love the 2016 Chateau La Roque de By for its clean and precise bouquet. A lovely Cru Bourgeois with classic Médoc aroma's of blackcurrent tinged with some cedar. Attractive, fruit forward and fresh with a lively finish. A great value wine.

Toscana IGT, 2017
A beautiful Super Tuscan with a nod to Bordeaux thanks to the Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the blend, complemented with some Syrah and a small amount of Sangiovese that make every grape variety stand out beautifully. This wine gives me an instant holiday feeling. Perfect for current drinking on the terrace with a barbecue while dreaming of Italy.

I highly recommend this 2013 Saint-Estèphe from Château Clauzet which is drinking great now and adds a certain standing to the table. A quality wine at an affordable price; elegant, fine and very driven ; smooth well integrated tannins, pleasant acidity and good length on the finish. Very enjoyable!

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, 2014
This well-situated estate on the top of Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau is one of the classic staples that I have in my cellar. This traditional Merlot based wine is generous and fresh with a lovely fruit expression of red cherries, dark plums and a hint of cedar. Soft and silky on the palate with great depth. Drinking beautifully now.
