Château Chauvin

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Classé
0,75
Red
As we heard so often this year, Sylvie Cazes told us that it was the clay soils that saved the harvest and absorbed the winter rains, which led to only moderate stress in the summer drought. She especially praised the Cabernet Franc which for the first year made up 30% of the blend this year and brought the violet, floral and white pepper notes along with freshness and sweet structure. This is a confident, happy Chauvin with flavours of cassis, bitter chocolate, balsam, and a touch of citrus zest with smooth tannins leading to a lush finish. (FM)
