L'IF
When Jacques Thienpont bought this perfectly situated estate on the Saint-Émilion plateau in 2010, he named it ‘L'IF’, which is in line with the name ‘Le Pin’ in Pomerol and the third estate ‘L'Hêtre’, which all refer to trees. Today, the estate is run by Cyrille, the son of Nicolas Thienpont, Jacques cousin, and comprises 8 hectares planted with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The wines are intense and spicy, beautifully fresh and structured with chalky precision and elegance.
