Château L'Eglise-Clinet
In the Pomerol appellation, Château L'Église-Clinet is one of the elite. The vineyards of Château Clinet and Château Clos l'Église were merged in the early 1950s to form L'Èglise Clinet, a 5-hectare estate next to the Pomerol cemetery with clay and clay-gravel soil and parcels of old vines. The wines are known for their wonderful aromatic expression, good acidity and the pure expression of Merlot. They also have great ageing potential. The second wine, La Petite Eglise, is a highly respected, more accessible Pomerol with a little Cabernet Franc in the blend, which represents an elegant, pure wine of good value.
