Château Lagrange

Saint-Julien
3ième Grand Cru Classé

For Matthieu Bordes, this vintage was so satisfying and easy, helped by the 150mm of rain that fell in June and the cool nights. He felt that he should make a strict selection and divided the harvest between 40% of the grand vin and 60% of Fiefs. This is a top-notch Lagrange, soft and round and welcoming with ripe, Cabernet Sauvignon flavours, full of cassis and violets. The wine is very precise and chiseled despite the ripeness; the tannins are smooth and round and there is beautiful harmony and energy in the long finish. A very confident, structured, and delicious Lagrange which will age well.
