Château Calon Ségur

Saint-Estèphe
3ième Grand Cru Classé
0,75
Red
One of the big successes of the vintage (in general there were lovely wines made in St. Estèphe), the blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. This is the largest amount of Cabernet used since 2009 and it really plays a starring role in this vintage. Only the Merlots grown on blue clay were used for the grand vin. On the nose there are floral notes of roses, blossom and violets which leads to sweet, creamy ripe berry fruit on the palate. The structure builds up on the palate with good weight and energy in the finish. This is a beautiful, classic wine made with a zen like calmness by Vincent Millet who has been making the wines since 2006 and really is in top form here at Calon. Max. 12 btls.
