Château Figeac

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
1er Grand Cru Classé
0,75
Red
Frederic Faye explains Figeac’s brilliant performance in this hot and dry vintage to the sub soil of blue clay from Pomerol which is much deeper here (6 metres below ground) and creates a cooler, damper micro-climate around the vine. The earliest harvest ever which began on the 1st of September, the wine is a classic Figeac blend of 35% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Franc and 31% Cabernet Sauvignon. Perfumed, juicy and soft, with an under tow of fresh dark berries, oriental spice and new oak, there is good graphite freshness that drives the wine onto a precise, fine finish. This is certainly one of the top wines of the vintage, and worthy of its recent upgrade to Saint Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A in last year’s classification.
