Château Haut-Marbuzet

Saint-Estèphe
Cru bourgeois
1,5
Red
The Thienpont family have been selling the wines of the Dubosq family for four generations and such a long association is wonderful. Haut Marbuzet has a large amount of Merlot and it makes up 55% of the blend this year. Blue clay in the soils here mean that the grapes rarely get stressed by heat or drought. This is a lovely spicy, grapey wine with aromas of plums, mulberries and sloes. It is joyous, quite exuberant and open with great life and a touch of exotic fruit on the attack. Pretty and fresh with a long and spicy finish. A top wine, especially at this price. (FM)
