Château La Tour Figeac

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Red
The well situated 15 hectare estate has been on a roll recently with a series of pure, fruity vintages. Made from a blend of primarly Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, the grapes are whole berry fermented in open top vats over a 30 day period. The wine is aged in 50% new oak, partially on the lees, for 18 months. For 20 years, Christine Derenoncourt has been in charge of winemaking here and the wine is always known for its freshness and its lovely fruit perfume. The 2015 is very elegant and fine, with spicy red fruit flavours, a touch of smoke and herbs, smooth and plummy on the palate with a long, silky finish. Serve with roasted and grilled meats and drink for the next ten years.
