Château Palmer

Margaux
3ième Grand Cru Classé
0,75
Red
I have followed the progress that winemaker Thomas Duroux has made at Palmer over the years including the conversion to biodynamic viticulture and have long coveted an allocation of this beautiful wine. So here it is, with a few bottles of Alter Ego to boot and we couldn’t be more excited to add this gem to our portfolio of En Primeur wines. With its 66 hectares of gravelly soils and grassy rows, its village of houses where 60 people live and work, its biodiversity, its desire to become self-sufficient and its ambitious R & D programme, Palmer is a very special place.

The 2020 vintage is classic Palmer with the gorgeous velvety texture for which it is so well known. It has a dark intense colour, is lush and ripe on the nose with expressive notes of blue and black berries. There is a core of sweet, opulent fruit coming from the Merlots; perfect balance with very fine, suave tannins; power and generousity towards the finish with notes of mineral and spice stretching out the tension and the persistence. This wine has a wonderful life ahead of it. (FM)
