Clos Saint-Martin

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Primeur
0,75
Red
This tiny estate so well located next to Canon and Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse, is made from a classic blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has a dark bright crimson colour, a fresh cassis nose, some sweetness and minerality in the attack, he is immediately appealing and welcoming. There is soft crunchy fruit on the palate with good intensity and a vein of energetic acidity running through the wine. Sophie Fourcade attributes this freshness to the growing use of terra cotta jars which she uses to vinify her wines. There is an element of bitter dark chocolate here which adds interest to the berried fruit. Good precision and an attractive resonance here.
