Bertrand Sourdais

Domaine de Pallus from Chinon. An estate that captures the core of the Chinon appellation, in the beautiful Loire Valley, where a remarkable 2500 hectares of Cabernet Franc grapes are grown.

In the village of Cravant les Coteaux in Chinon, approximately 750 hectares are dedicated to Cabernet Franc. However, a modest 70 hectares of hillside vineyards are recognised as grand cru sites, showcasing the greatness of this appellation. Within this limited expanse, Domaine de Pallus proudly possesses and nurtures 12 hectares.

Since 2005, Bertrand Sourdais, the fifth-generation winemaker, has wholeheartedly dedicated himself to showcasing the unique character of the noble Cabernet Franc variety, with flavours of roasted red pepper, raspberry sauce, fresh raspberry, and wet gravel, lifted by high acidity and soft tannins. Guided by his unwavering passion, Domaine de Pallus skillfully preserves and celebrates the historical heritage and charm of Cabernet Franc in their wines.

Prepare to be enchanted by captivating flavours, all expertly crafted with utmost devotion. With every sip, Domaine de Pallus invites you to discover Cabernet Franc through the artistry and expertise of Bertrand Sourdais, a testament to this noble grape variety.
