This wine comes from a pre-phylloxera variety which is drought resistant and ripens early. It has small yields and great intensity. Bright yellow straw colour with spicy, ripe notes of oatmeal, quince, baked apple, cinnamon and lemon peel. Sweet on the attack, the wine then becomes salty and fresh with good density yet elegance. Aged in large clay jars with a small percentage in 600 litre French oak barrels, there is a beautiful creamy lushness in the structure and lingering herbs and spices on the finish.
