Château Bélair-Monange

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
1er Grand Cru Classé

Red
The second year of vinification in the fabulous new cellar has rendered up a beautiful wine for Edouard Moueix. Made almost entirely of Merlot grapes, it has a dark garnet colour with evident richness in appearance. The nose is pure and fruity with black cherries, blueberries, a touch of mint and minerality. Lush and inviting on the attack with quite a very classy and elegant profile of red fruit, spicy tannins, and a hint of oak. This is evidently a baby with a lot of flavours that are a little reticent now but with some aeration, there is a noble bitterness, spice and energy which comes to the fore on the palate and is backed with lovely, lush tannins and an echo of the excellent fruit flavours in the classic finish. This seems almost effortless and so natural. We are great fans of this wine.
