Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan
Grand Cru Classé de Graves

Red
There was a great deal of emphasis placed on the green work (berry and leaf removal) throughout the whole season in the vineyard. It ensured a very healthy crop with good yields. The blend here is 52.7% Merlot, 29.6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17.7% Cabernet Franc, and produced a La Mission, which is round, supple, generous, and juicy. Dark intense purple colour; sweet plummy nose with a vein of licorice and spice; excellent creamy structure, with fine tannin; a touch of gravitas and power on the finish. This is lovely and elegant, and it should unfurl beautifully with time.
