Chateau Talbot

Saint-Julien
4ième Grand Cru Classé

Red
Talbot is one of those quintessential St. Julien wines that always delivers lovely, sweet flavours of plums, cassis and cedar. The wine has a record amount of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, with 77% complemented with 20% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. There is excellent freshness in the nose and attack with aromas of pear, red peppers, cassis, and spice. Well composed with fresh, dense, woven tannins which fill out the mid-palate, reasonable alcohol and lovely energy in the finish, this wine beautifully reflects the gravelly terroir of Talbot. Harvesting the Cabernets over a period of three weeks during the Indian summer was the key to success of this lovely wine.
