This beautifully situated cru lies just over the border in Nuits St. Georges and combines the richness of the Nuits wines with the violet scents and elegance of the Vosne wines with Malconsorts and Chaumes on the other side of the border. Unlike the Vosne 2016s, this wine will need time to grow up and expand. It is very dense and tightly packed at the moment with sweetness and salinity combining to create a wine of rare elegance and balance where the berry fruit and plums take a back seat. There is lots of potential here and a beautiful echo of violet and cassis in the finish.
