Domaine Jean Grivot

Échezeaux
Grand Cru
0,75
Red
What pleases Etienne Grivot about this wine is the balance between intensity and power. There is glamour and freshness here which he says is due to the purity and resonance of the tannins. (We love the way that Etienne talks more about the movement of a wine rather than its taste). The 2018 has a beautiful nose of wild flowers and cherry blossom; on the attack, there is round, ripe blackberry fruit with a vein of licorice and spice running through the middle of the wine. The wine becomes more structured and serious towards the finish and will be long lasting.
