Château Latour

Like many of the Moueix Pomerol wines, the Cabernet Franc was left out of the blend and the wine is made uniquely from Merlot grapes grown in gravel/clay soil. The wine has a rich, quite intense ruby red colour and an inviting red berried fruit nose with some notes of truffle, coffee and chocolate. On the attack, the wine is very lush with excellent acidity and a vein of energetic tannin which lifts the wine up. Multi-layered and complete with a touch of sweetness at the end of the palate, this wine is long and fine leaving an elegant trail of woodsmoke and fruit behind it.
